3 Key Tips for Planning Your 2021 Event During a Pandemic!

How early is too early to start planning your 2021 event? Well, with the circumstances this year, you are never too early. COVID-19 caused chaos for events big and small. We saw weddings postponed, corporate events made virtual and even concerts turned into FREE Verzus battles. Here are a few tips for planning your event this year! TIP #1: PREPARE FOR THE WORSE!
If 2020 has shown us anything is that it can get worse before it gets better. Yes, I know, the government has a vaccine so we should be good to go, right? Well, maybe not. Even though it may be looking up, we still should always prepare for another lockdown and any other inconveniences that can occur. What does planning for the worse look like?:
Have a backup date for the event! If you have this event planned for March and you want to have a second date just in case, push it to September/October! Be sure to decide this date in the planning stages so your guest can write down the second date on their calendars.
Figure out how the event can be made virtual! I am not sure if you heard or not but Zoom is the new office space. Zoom can hold up to 1,000 guests on certain plans! You do not have to pay a space fee, you can even still have a fee for the event if necessary!
TIP #2: ASSIGN RESPONSIBILITIES
The beginning of a great event is finding the individuals to run the event! If you are the head of the event, GET YOUR HELP NOW! Delegation can be hard but it is necessary for an organized and successful event. Think of the different areas that need to be handled for the entire event:
Food & Beverages
Guest Management
Social Media
Graphic Design
Event Planner
And depending on the event you may need more or less help. Either way that is a lot to manage! Find your team or hire a virtual assistant to help with backend work. The options are limitless!
TIP #3: BUILD YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE
This is where the Social Media Manager will come in handy. Building a social media presence for any corporate or company event is essential for FREE publicity and exposure. Having a social media presence will allow you to stay in news feeds and in the minds of potential guests!
Now, these are just some of the best tips that I have regarding this new way of planning. The key for 2021 planning is be prepared and be smart!
